Mazda CX-9 vs BMW X5

Who wins? Easy, the CX 9, but just by a scratch, you'll see why throughout this article.

The price
The japanese tops out at $32,815, which makes it marginally cheaper then the German mean machine, which reaches to a good $54,100, now that gives a major price difference which definitely gives the mazda a 1-0 lead. The BMW is just too expensive, I mean the german machine is incomparable with the strength of the japanese. SImply, if you buy a japanese car, it's life span is 10-13 years, with minor changes yearly after year 5, while on the other hand, with the germans, you only have 4-5 years, with yearly changes from year 3, that's a big difference.

The looks
I just have to say, BMW have done it this time, the X5 is their best looking car without a doubt, hands down. I mean just look at it, those bulging rims, that fabulous grill, that simple and yet elegant line down the middle of the side of the car, I mean, I say again, just look at it....
Now the CX 9 is not bad at all, don't get me wrong, it's just not an X5, but to give it a suitable name, it's the best looking japanese SUV, can't be compared with the ugly prado and land cruiser. The interior, well the CX 9 gets that one, it's moody, you got blue lights everywhere which give you that comforty feeling, the leather is two tone which adds a bit of style to it, and the gauges are just too good for the ugly BMW ones. The Gear is also more stylish, with another beam of blue light shooting down the center.

In conclusion, the Mazda just gets the edge because of its interior, price, and raw japanese power. The BMW is not a bad car at all, but between these two, the Mazda just has to get it.

Mercedes E Class vs BMW 5 series

Mercedes promises that their new Mercedes e class is the ultimate business man car. After researching, and asking many questions, I actually found out that it really is.

The Price
The e class tops out at $56,300, now, you can't argue about the prices, both are pretty expensive, but I have to say, with the BMW topping out at $66,200, you definitely get your money's worth with the E class, and I'm not saying that because it's cheaper, but I'm saying that because the BMW 5 series Gran Turismo is just not worth that much.

The looks
I just have to say that the Merc beats BMW yet again on this one, I mean, the 5 series is basically not a sedan any more, it's a combination of a sedan, with a hatchback, you just lose everything that was nice about the 5 series and give the edge to the benz. There is one specific thing I liked with the mercedes, it just threw out it's "eye looking" headlights, and put in new concept looking ones. Another thing that makes the e class better than the 5 series is its back end, have you seen the back of the 5 series? I personally advise you not to do so..... It can be described in one word, UGLY. While the e class just get better and better from the back, it just gives you the "mercedesy" feeling that all mercs have. Now, if you turn your attention to the front, you realize that the BMW gets even uglier, it just lost it's touch, completely! The mercedes's front looks one of a kind, it has a sporty front grill which doesn't give away it's elegance, and the fog lights are perfectly placed. Now, if you turn your attention to the inside, you'll find out that the BMW has to win it, it has a very simple, elegant woodwork through the center, but yet again, the merc has goot too much wood, both cars have internet, and both have that small turning wheel that I'm just crazy about. The only thing that is better in the benz is the gear shift, in the BMW, you have a classic handle, while on the merc you have a sporty gearshift behind the steering wheel, just like an F1 car....

The engine
You just have to give this one to the benz, i mean it is just too sporty, and let's face it, mercedes weren't going to wreck their potentially amazing car by putting a rubbish load of crap under the bonnet, it just didn't fail to impress, it was perfect, too powerful for the gentle, scared, BMW.

In conclusion, the BMW 5 series gran turismo is just a failed attempt to try to reach Mercedes standards, and what can I say, benz has risen again!!

Ford Taurus vs Mercedes S Class

It's been an extremely long time since ford have created their new taurus, well, the 2010 edition is just mind blowing. It is simply the most innovative full size sedan in America.

It just looks too good to the point that it can actually compete with the likes of the mercedes s class and 7 series BMW, although everyone prefers the raw power of the german engine, I personally prefer the simpleness of the american car.

The price:
A good factor in the taurus is it's fabulous price, which tops out at $38,595, yet, it is cheaper than the s class which starts at $87,950, but much more convenient than it. Which basically means that you pay much less for a sedan which looks better, feels better, and even drives better, as tests show.

The Looks
With it's looks almost left the same for 2010, the benz has not changed its looks since 2006, but the taurus has changed completely. You basically have the most beutiful looking american sedan right in front of you. It's rear looks very simple, yet extremely elegant with that silver line going through the middle, while the s class made it look even worse with those Lexus LS like exhausts which don't match at all with the class of the merc, while on the other hand, the Taurus has simple, twin, chrome exhausts. The front of the Taurus looks really nice, it's got that "monstery" look without ruining it's elegance. Now if we move to the interior, we can easily see that the american new boy has got it all. Simple, elegant, and extremely relaxing, the seats in the SHO edition, which is the maximum you can get in the Taurus, are very well done, they are leather around the edges, and cloth in the middle, which gives a perfect balance in looks and comfort. Another advantage to this is that the car won't seem so hot on sunny days with the cloth cooling the car down. The woodplating in the Taurus comes in just the perfect balance, simple, one piece which runs from the doors down to the middle of the dashboard. Now, the s class's interior can be described in only one word, RUBBISH, the wood is way too much, covering the whole steering wheel, that just loses the special leather touch of the steering wheel. The gadgets are all hidden in compartments which ruin the futuristic look, but the only nice thing in the interior of the benz is the scrolling wheel right in front of the handrest, I personally love it.

The engine
Well, to say the truth, I have to give this one to the Germans, although I said earlier that the American simplicity is much preferable over the raw power, but if you had to compare, the merc just has to win it, with it's V8 engine which could max up to a V12 one in the s63, you just can't resist the amazing, powerful noise that you get from the s class. The american car, on the other hand, isn't bad at all, V6, 3.5 L, and 6 speed auto.

The technology
The taurus definitely gets this one, it is just too advanced for the mercedes to cope with. You've got the BLIS(the blind spot information system), intelligent access, adaptive cruise control, and a rear view camera. Most of those are there in the S class, but the fact that it's a first for ford is just amazing.
